Full-Time
DVM — Full-Time
$125k – $150k
Guaranteed base + production pay with no negative accrual — your base is never at risk. Three 12-hr shifts/week (Mon–Thu).
Part-Time / Relief
DVM — Part-Time
$65 – $100 / hr
Hourly rate based on appointment mix, surgical involvement, and experience. Flexible.
Technician
CVT — Certified Vet Tech

Full Position Description
New Graduate Associate DVM
We built this position for exactly one person: a fourth-year DVM student who wants to become an excellent, confident clinician — without production pressure, without solo shifts before they’re ready, and without sacrificing their life to get there. Since 2016, For The Love of Paws has delivered more than $1 million in discounted veterinary care across Douglas County and Southern Oregon. We are self-sustaining — not donor-dependent, not corporate-owned.
The Mentorship Commitment
You will not practice alone during your first year. That’s a promise we put in writing:
- Mentored surgeries with our founding veterinarian and surgeon, Dr. Stephen Frack
- Guided case workups alongside our two experienced staff DVMs
- Overlapping doctor coverage on every shift for your entire first year
- A schedule that grows with you — four 9-hour shifts in year one, transitioning to three 12-hour shifts (and four days off every week) as you gain independence

The Nonprofit Loan Advantage
As a 501(c)(3), full-time employment with us may qualify you for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF). For a graduate carrying six-figure debt, a PSLF-eligible employer can be worth more over ten years than any signing bonus in the profession. Verify current program terms with your loan servicer.
Your Caseload
Small animal general practice with genuine variety: wellness and preventive care, medical workups, dentistry, urgent care, and a strong surgical caseload with direct mentorship. You’ll practice spectrum-of-care medicine — learning to deliver excellent outcomes across every budget, a skill that makes you a better doctor everywhere you go. Modern systems included: cloud PIMS, AI-assisted SOAP notes, and in-house diagnostics.
Extern With Us First
We welcome OSU fourth-year students for externship and preceptorship rotations. Work a block with our doctors, see the caseload, meet the team — then decide if this is home. Mention externship interest in your application or reach out directly.
